Welcome to Fabulous Families!
I’m Elizabeth, and I’m a mum and grandmother with a love for families of every kind. And I’m not just talking about those so-called ‘traditional’ families with a mum, dad and 2.4 children. I believe families come in all shapes and sizes and my hope for Fabulous Families is that I can create a place where we can celebrate the rich diversity of different groupings.
I’ve got three grown children and two wonderful grandchildren, so I do feel I’m able to share some of the tips and experience I’ve picked up over the years. But I also hope you’ll feel you can add your contribution too – after all, everyone’s family is unique and we all have something to offer.
So what do I want to cover on Fabulous Families? Well, I believe we should all life to the full, which includes areas such as healthy living, having a positive outlook and making the most of every day. Although I realise that not all families have children, I am passionate about raising happy, confident and responsible kids. And as I’m not as young as I used to be, I’m also concerned about how to live a vibrant life as I get older.
A bit about me…
I’m a retired primary headteacher, and I now share my time between the UK and The Gambia, West Africa. I have far too many hobbies and interests to name them all, but I love reading, photography, nature and wildlife, and running. I’m also a freelance writer.
I hope you like what you find on Fabulous Families and that you’ll become part of our community.
